Don't Cry For Me Argentina...I'm Doing Just Fine
December 21, 2018
I am less than one week into rehearsals for Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice's Evita at Riverside Theatre. This is the first equity production I have ever been a part of and although I am not yet a member of AEA I am extremely thankful to be in a room full of artists who have dedicated so much of their lives to honing their craft and bringing stories like this one to light. With the riveting direction and choreography of Tony-nominated Marcia Milgrom Dodge, every moment of this rehearsal process so far has been filled with sass, spice, and nothing short of extreme passion. This production open in Vero Beach on January 8 and runs through January 27. With 26 performances this will be the longest running show I have ever been a part of, and I am so up to the challenge. It is also the shortest rehearsal process for a show of this caliber that I have participated in. I am glad to be a part of a story that highlights the life of a complicated woman and what life stuff brought her to her reality. I am a huge proponent of stories about females, let alone females with power (however broken their past may be.)
